Hi,
How many instances of SQL server I need to install in 2 - node server
cluster for Active/Active and for Active/Passive mode 'on each node' ?
Pankaj
SQL does not use the term Active or Passive. It's all about instances. With
Server 2003, you can run 16 instances within the cluster. Any node will be
albe to support as many as that node can hold

|||Pankaj,
Rod is correct.
I think you might want to review the following whitepaper:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../failclus.mspx
and the following topics in BOL;
SQL Server 2000 Failover Clusters
Failover Clustering FAQ
Failover Clustering
Hope that helps!
